About the role

The Behavioural Support Practitioner focuses on providing individualised positive behaviour support services for young people and adults who are living with a disability and NDIS participants.

This role will provide direct specialist assessment and intervention services including functional behaviour assessment, writing and development of behaviour support plans and discipline specific assessments and interventions.  

This position is based from our Wantirna site with regular travel required throughout Melbourne and surrounds as well as providing Telehealth support. 

Skills & Experience:

• 2 years + experience in the disability field with clients who have significant complex support needs
• Tertiary degree in allied health, and current registration.
• Experience in functional behavioural assessment and behaviour support plan development and writing including risk strategies and skills development planning  for young people and adults with complex support needs.
• Experience in delivery of behaviour support services with clients subject to restrictive interventions is desirable.
• Experience of NDIS plans and funding.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a team within a changing environment and to collaborate with peers and teams to achieve results
• Excellent communication and time management skills
• Great relationship building skills
• Knowledge of a broad range of psychological issues and effective treatment modalities
