About VMCH
VMCH’s innovative social enterprise café in Kensington is on the lookout for a passionate Disability Support Worker with hospitality experience to help people with disability build job skills, confidence, and independence.
In this hands-on role, you’ll support and train our café trainees as they gain real-world experience in a welcoming, inclusive environment. Working alongside hospitality and disability professionals, you’ll help deliver great coffee, great food, and even greater opportunities.
About the role
In this hands-on role, you’ll guide trainees in developing barista, food prep, and customer service skills—helping them grow personally and professionally on their journey toward employment and independence.

This is a casual position, covering opening hours of 7.00am - 3.00pm.
About you
You will be an experienced Disability Support Worker, along with your disability expertise, you will have customer service and barista experience within the hospitality industry.
Skills, experience & requirements
- Experience in the hospitality and/or disability sector
- Certificate IV in Disability (preferred but not essential)
- Food Safety Handling Certificate (or willing to obtain)
- Experience and confidence operating a coffee machine (preferred)
- Confident and capable of teaching and training hospitality skills (essential)
- Outstanding customer service skills
- Excellent communication, organization and time management skills
- NDIS Worker Screening Check and Working with Children Check
- Current First Aid and CPR Certificate
- Compassionate and empathetic individuals who are looking for something more and want to make a difference
