About the role
Are you a qualified Cook or Chef looking for a change of pace? Do you have a passion to work within the aged care sector? About you 
You will hold current Cooking and Food Handling certifications and possess a thorough understanding of Food Safety legislation and Occupational Health and Safety requirements within a kitchen environment. Your experience spans all aspects of food preparation, including menu planning and the creation of fresh, well-presented, and appetising daily meals. In addition, you will:
  • Help plan and prepare menus and meals that meet residents’ dietary, cultural, and nutritional needs
  • Carry out basic food preparation and presentation, including specialized cooking tasks
  • Keep kitchen and dining areas clean, including equipment and utensils
  • Serve and deliver meals to residents
  • Support the Chef with ordering, checking, and rotating food supplies
  • Assist with onboarding new staff and promote safe, efficient work practices
  • Delegate tasks to Food Service Assistants as needed
  • Manage resources effectively, including stock control and equipment use
  • Perform other duties as directed by the Chef within the scope of the role
