About the role

As a Disability Support Worker (DSW), you will provide personalised quality care and support to our VMCH residents who live in a shared supported accommodation based in Carrum.

We currently have a 2 permanent part-time positions offering between 25 – 30 hours per fortnight. All suitable applicants will be required to attend a group interview and assessment centre on Tuesday 16th August, 2022 between 10am – 12.30pm.

About SDA Carrum

Our purpose-built house is made up of two connected three-bedroom units and can accommodate up to 6 residents aged between 40 - 65 years. Located in a quiet residential street in Carrum, the house has seven fully accessible bathrooms, two bright large open-plan living spaces, large fully equipped kitchen and a landscaped outdoor living area with undercover BBQ and water features and is it is close to public transport, shopping centre and cafes,  – making it a truly wonderful community for our residents to live.

Skills & Experience

You will hold a Certificate IV in Disability and have demonstrated experience working with and providing person-centered care to people with a disability and / or additional needs. You will also have:

  • Strong communication skills – both verbal and written
  • Basic level of computer and administration skills 
  • Current Level 2 First Aid and CPR Certificate 
  • Current valid Driver’s Licence, Car Insurance and Car Registration
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check
  • Working with Children’s Check (WWCC)
  • Relevant flu vaccination for 2022 and COVID-19 vaccination including 3rd booster
