About the role

As a VMCH Occupational Therapist, you will

  • Work as part of a trans-disciplinary team to within Disability Services or Early Childhood Intervention Services (ECIA) to deliver high quality services to clients, families and children  
  • Provide key worker support including; deliver a broad range of evidence informed intervention strategies, standardised assessments and parent training to increase communication and active participation in social and educational settings for children;
  • undertake face to face consultation and relationship building in natural environments, schools and kindergartens as well as on-site at VMCH facilities and therapy spaces;
  • liaise and collaborate with a transdisciplinary team to design and deliver comprehensive support plans; and

This is a wonderful opportunity for a skilled OT with extensive experience or for a recent OT graduate who is looking to kick-start their career within the Allied Health space.

Skills & experience

  • A relevant qualification in Occupational Therapy and relevant registration
  • Extensive experience in Occupational Therapy assessment and service delivery
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to provide effective consultative skills that facilitate change through use of reflective and strength-based practice
  • An understanding of the Key worker model
  • Ability to coach other trans disciplinary team members in areas of expertise
  • A current NDIS Worker Screening Check
  • A current Victorian drivers license
  • A current Working with Children Check (WWCC)
  • Evidence of relevant vaccinations (2022 flu vaccination and COVID-19 including 3rd booster)
