About the role 

As a VMCH Registered Nurse (RN), you will consistently deliver high standards of personalised nursing care to our residents, demonstrate professional and collaborative practice and provide supervision and direction to Personal Care Assistants (PCAs). Furthermore, if you are a Level 2 or 3 RN, you may also undertake the role of RN in-charge in the absence of the Care Manager or Residential Services Manager.

This is a full-time position working Monday to Friday from 7am – 3pm at Star of the Sea Aged Care facility in Torquay. Built in 2018, Star of the Sea is a 96 bed coastal home that offers beautiful lounge spaces with open fireplaces, to intimate and comfortable sitting rooms.

Skills & experience

You will Tertiary qualified and hold a current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse. You will have demonstrated experience of working within Aged Care and have a good understanding and working knowledge of Commonwealth, State and / or Territory legislation and nursing practices. Furthermore, you will have the;

• Ability to assess Aged Care Residents and formulate Care Plans in collaboration with Registered Nurse  
• An understanding of and ability to ensure compliance with residential Aged Care Standards, ACFI requirements, Occupational Health and Safety, food safety and other professional legislative requirements
• Experience leading, supporting and supervising staff and promoting a team approach in the workplace (Level 2 or 3 RN)
• First Aid and CPR Certificate
• NDIS Working Screening Check
• Relevant Flu Vaccination and COVID-19 Vaccination including 3rd booster
