    About the role

    We have a vacancy for a NDIS registered Behaviour Support Practitioner to join our Disability Allied Health team to develop and implement Behaviour Support Plans to improve our client’s quality of life.    

    This is a part time role 45.6 hours per fortnight reporting to the Senior Manager Allied Health.  This role is based at the Kew office with travel required mainly in Eastern Metro

     

    About you 

    You are a passionate Behaviour Support Practitioner whose number one goal is to improve the quality of life of all our NDIS Participants and you value the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of people with a disability.

    You will be NDIS registered and have the necessary training and experience in behaviour support to deliver NDIS funded services to support young people and adult clients who have complex needs and challenging behaviours.

    Duties

    • Provide person centred behaviour support in accordance with the NDIS Positive Behaviour Support Capability framework.
    • Develop Behaviour Support Plans consistent with the requirements of the NDIS, (Restrictive Practices and Behaviour Support) Rules 2018, the Disability Act and the Victorian Senior Practitioner
    • Involve all stakeholders in the person’s support team in the development of the Functional Behaviour Analysis (FBA) and the Behaviour Support Plan (BSP)
    • Training, supervising and supporting staff to implement behaviour support plans and positive behaviour support strategies.

    Skills and experience

    • Minimum 2 years of experience and a strong interest in Positive Behaviour Support with NDIS participants who have significant complex support needs NDIS Behaviour Support Practitioner ID (proficient, advanced), tertiary qualification in a relevant field, for eg. Psychology, Occupational Therapy
    • Demonstrated ability to work in a changing environment and to collaborate and build strong relationships with clients and with all stakeholders to achieve results
    • Excellent communication, report-writing and time management skills
    • Proficient in using technology and digital record-keeping systems
    • Current working with children checks and NDIS Worker Screening Check and driver's license
