Commercial Finance Analyst

About the role

Reporting to the Group Treasurer, this role will focus on providing commercial and financial support to the business via robust commercial analysis, financial modelling and excellent communication. Applying a strategic and analytical lens, the role will support corporate and business objectives both within the finance team and across the organisation as required.

In the first 12 months, the focus will be on financial planning and analysis, particularly budget modelling and integration of the budget and forecasts with our financial systems. You will work closely with stakeholders in finance and across the business to help achieve budget objectives and provide timely commercial analysis.

In addition, you may perform commercial reviews and analytical tasks to support corporate or business initiatives, such as business unit viability analysis and revenue review analysis. Additionally, the role provides commercial support and analysis for property developments and major expenditures, including assisting in the development of business cases. It also includes providing commercial support and analysis for market opportunities including mergers, acquisitions, and divestments as required, as well as performing analysis of the impact of major funding or other changes in the sectors in which VMCH operates.

 

About you

  • Bachelor of Business (Commerce) or equivalent qualification. CPA, CA, CFA or MBA Qualification (or working towards).
  • Previous experience in a similar role including commercial finance, business/feasibility modelling, project evaluation, budgeting and forecasting, and balance sheet management.
  • Excellent communicator and collaborator who works well in a large, diverse organization.
  • Strong Excel skills are essential.
  • High personal integrity, detail-oriented, well organized, and understands the importance of assumptions and data integrity.
  • Well demonstrated analysis and data visualisation development with experience in handling and analysing complex data.
  • The ability to think beyond numbers and combine data with strategy and financial insight.
  • Flexibility to work across the sectors in which VMCH operates and learn about different business structures.
  • A team player with personal drive and commitment.
  • Previous experience working in Retirement Living, Aged Care, Disability Accommodation and Services, property development, or within a ‘Not for Profit’ Organisation not essential, however will be highly regarded.
