About the role
 
Are you a qualified Cook or Chef looking for a change of pace? Do you have a passion to work within the aged care sector? About you 
 
You will hold relevant Cooking and Food Handling certifications and have a comprehensive understanding of Food Safety Laws and Occupational Health and Safety in a kitchen environment. You will have demonstrated experience in all facets of food preparation including menu planning, preparation of daily meals ensuring they are fresh, well presented and appetizing. Furthermore, you will: 
 
• Assisting with planning and preparing menus and meals for residents in accordance with any dietary, cultural and care needs, ensuring they meet the daily living needs, nutrition and hydration requirements of the residents;
• Perform basic food preparation and presentation tasks including specialist cooking functions;
• Cleaning of food preparation and consumption areas, cooking equipment and utensils;
• Serving and delivery of meals to residents;
• Assisting the Chef with ordering, checking and rotating of all food supplies;
• Assist the Chef in the orientation of new staff and achieve safe and efficient work practices;
• Effectively delegates tasks and responsibilities to Food Service Assistants;
• Manage resources efficiently this includes stock control, following maintenance schedules, use of equipment;
• Perform other duties within the scope of practice and as required by the Chef consistent with the broad emphasis of the position
