About the role 

VMCH has an opportunity for an experienced HR Business Partner to join us. This role is responsible for providing quality HR services and support the achievement of business objectives for our Residential Aged Care business.  

This role will ensure the implementation of HR strategies and frameworks across the business. You will provide coaching and advice to our managers on best practice people management, supporting them to effectively manage conduct and performance issues and change management initiatives. 

 

What your day may look like: 

  • HR Business Partnering Support; Work with business areas to ensure the effective implementation and application of a range of relevant HR frameworks, policies, procedures, and practices. Support in the areas of coaching, guiding, providing advice and assistance on best practice people management. 
  • HR Operations; deliver effective HR services, manage performance and change initiatives, provide industrial relations advice, and deliver relevant training. Implement workplace planning initiatives, support various frameworks and strategies, and ensure compliance with legislative and regulatory requirements. 
  • HR Administration & Projects; ensure that VMCH policies and procedures are maintained and revised in accordance with legislative and regulatory requirements. Undertake internal audits and accreditation requirements, HR data, and accreditation and compliance reporting. 
  • Continuous improvement: Contribute to continual improvement process’ and systems and identify opportunities for enhancement.

About you 

  • A tertiary or master’s qualification in Human Resources. 

  • Prior experience as a HR business partner. Aged care sector experience is not essential however will be highly regarded. 

  • Proven ability to maintain and develop strong relationships with key stakeholders in a collaborative and partnering manner. 

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. 

  • Well-developed problem-solving skills with demonstrated initiative and judgement. 

  • Relevant experience in employee relations case management, consulting, coaching, and the ability to anticipate and tailor style and approach to suit the audience. 

  • Proven commitment to client service and continuous improvement. 

  • Ability to act with discretion and handle confidential information. 

  • High-level capacity in the use of HR Information Systems.
