About the role 

VMCH Disability Services is opening an Independent Living house in Wangaratta to provide people with a Disability a place to learn life skills at their own pace in preparation to live independently in the community and empower them to live the lifestyle of their choosing. You will be providing individualised capacity building supports including daily hygiene and support clients to increase independence to complete a range domestic tasks and administrative tasks.

You will also have the opportunity to work across a variety of the programs we offer, from our group programs to working 1:1 with people in their homes or to access the community.

Successful candidates will be required to work a range of rostered shifts that may include mornings, afternoons, weekends, sleepovers.

 

About You

You will have experience working with people with a disability and have the passion and drive to support them to gain skills to live independently in the community. 

Skills & Experience

  • Experience in working in the Disability, Community or Healthcare sectors.
  • Certificate IV Disability or similar (desirable)
  • Current Level 2 First Aid and CPR Certificate 
  • Current valid full Driver’s Licence, Car Insurance and Car Registration
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check and Working with Children’s Check (WWCC)
  • Basic level of computer and administration skills 
  • Relevant flu vaccination for 2022 and COVID-19 vaccination including 3rd booster.
