Leisure and Lifestyle Coordinator | Residential Aged Care | VMCH Ashwood
Are you passionate about creating meaningful experiences that enhance the wellbeing and quality of life of older people? VMCH is seeking an enthusiastic and compassionate Leisure and Lifestyle Coordinator at Ashwood to lead the planning and delivery of engaging lifestyle programs within our residential aged care community.
The Position
As the Leisure and Lifestyle Coordinator, you will be responsible for developing and delivering innovative lifestyle, leisure, and activity programs that support residents' independence, wellbeing, and participation in daily life. You will lead and mentor Lifestyle Assistants and volunteers while ensuring programs align with residents' individual interests, needs, and goals.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and coordinate engaging lifestyle and activity programs for residents.
- Assess residents' leisure and wellbeing needs and create individualised program plans.
- Organise events, excursions, and activities that promote social connection, independence, and active engagement.
- Support residents living with dementia through meaningful and purposeful activities.
- Lead, mentor, and supervise Lifestyle Assistants and volunteers.
- Maintain documentation, evaluate program outcomes, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
What's Required
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Certificate IV in Leisure and Health, Diversional Therapy, or equivalent qualification
- Experience working within an aged care environment
- Previous experience leading and supervising staff.
- An understanding of Montessori principles in aged care.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and relationship-building skills.
- Current First Aid Certificate (Level 2).
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
