Finance Officer

The position
As Finance Officer, Retirement Living, you will join our Finance team in a newly created role, reporting to the Commercial Finance Manager.
You will play an important role in supporting new Retirement Living Act requirements while developing your experience across contract administration, resident settlements, resident engagement and retirement living finance.
This is a great opportunity for a proactive and detail-oriented finance professional looking to broaden their experience while working collaboratively across Finance, Retirement Living and other teams across VMCH.

The responsibilities
- Support requirements associated with the new Retirement Villages Act, including contract reviews, Information Statements and financial information for new resident contracts.
- Support new resident settlements, including preparing refund estimates, assisting with settlement processes and overseeing the setup of new contracts within the finance system.
- Review existing contract and financial data, cross-checking information across finance systems and registers and correcting issues where required.
- Partner with Village Managers and internal teams on resident-related finance queries, financial systems and broader Retirement Living activities.
- Provide broader finance support including budgeting and forecasting assistance, year-end reporting, audit and AGM preparation, compliance activities and ad hoc support.
What’s required
- Bachelor of Business (Commerce) Degree or equivalent qualification.
- Advanced Excel skills, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
- High attention to detail, strong organisational skills and the ability to work collaboratively across a large and diverse organisation.
- Proactive and energetic approach, with high personal integrity, drive and commitment.
- Current Victorian Driver’s Licence.
- Strong interpersonal and influencing skills.
- Police check
